The September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance is the culmination of efforts originally launched in 2002 by 9/11 family members, support groups and leading national service organizations. This effort first established the charitable service day on 9/11 as an annual and forward-looking tribute to the 9/11 victims, survivors, and those who rose up in service in response to the attacks.
This year OCES will participate in the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance by collecting peanut butter and jelly for our local food pantry, ACTS. ACTS is a local charitable organization that helps needy families in our area. Currently, they are serving approximately 600 families in our area. Please considering helping us stock the shelves in the food pantry by donating peanut butter or jelly this Friday.
