Regarding Acitivity grades:

Grading choices for all Activity classes changed this year.  Grades will be given for the Georgia Performance standards taught in a given 9 weeks.  The following grades and criteria will be used to determine your child’s grade in Art, Music and PE:
M (Meets) – Student meets the expectations of the standards.  Student consistently performs at grade level.
DNM (Does Not Meet) – Student does not meet the expectations of the standards.  Student does not perform standard at grade level.  Growth towards mastery of the standard is not evident.
When checking your child’s grades in Power School, please disregard the numbers 1-8 which may appear in the percentage column.  The numbers are not percentages.  They are codes the software program uses to distinguish between M and DNM.

Also: My math class took a Math test today and it has already been put into Power School. It may be vastly different than the grade on their Progress Reports. Also - any student who did not pass will be required to re-test over the material. We will start reviewing with those students and they will be re-testing within the next week or so. Please help them at home to review their divisibility sheet (which every student should have written down; it is also posted on my blog) as well as their prime number "cheat sheet".

And once again - the Science test for second block will be on Wednesday next week.

Enjoy the weekend!
